Taper Notes:
View NotesComments: There is nothing particulary special about this show but it is well played. It contains a couple of my favourite Dead songs and a very classy version of "Around And Around" all of which were what moved me to put this together. Notes: - The audience recording was downsampled with iZotope RX 6 Advanced and matrix created with Adobe Audition 1.5 - There is a splice/crossfade in the soundboard source of "Space" at about 6:18, approximately 1:14 is missing. This has been patched with the audience recording. - I also patched tracks 1 of Set I and Set II and most of the encore break with the audience recording.

View Notes- Thanks to Scotty for this way up front effort and for his many recording efforts and community contributions over the years. Glad to be able to preserve this fun recording. Notes from the taper: I had always loved recording things, taking pix, and pretty much archiving history when I could. I knew some tapers at the shows, but had no interest in buying all that stuff and setting up, etc I was 20ish years old and really didn't want to get involved with the taping aspect - plus there were PLENTY of tapers at the shows. My buddy Seth had this great Sony recording walkman - so I borrowed it on a couple of occasions, picked up some little mic on a wire and taped a couple of shows. The other shows I taped with this ghetto-style setup were 9/10/91 MSG w Branford, which you will never hear for that is brutal, and two Phish shows - 5/3/93 and Summer 93 at Jones Beach I had a 7th row center ticket the year before at Nassau -for 3/28/91 - the night of the Terrapin encore- which, because Jerry and the gang finished the 2 sets rather early, they threw us a bone and encored with Terrapin. I took this stub with me to this night - 3/11/92 at Nassau, thinking ok - ill just get into the show with my regular ticket, and weasel up to the front by showing ushers the stub from LAST YEAR. This ploy worked - and here I was dead center with the mics in the hat in the 7th row. Before Wang-Dang could get rolling, ushers were booting people from the row if they had no ticket. The people w the real tix came, but I had a friend in Row 3, so I went up there as Wang Dang got underway, as u can hear on the tape. I put myself in the 3rd row, pointed the mics as up and outwards as possible, and this is the result. So everything after Cold Rain is from the 3rd row in front of Jerry. I never thought this cassette would wind up anywhere but in a box in my apartment- to listen to for fun, and keep a lil piece of GD history that I recorded. But now it is here - its not SO bad - its close - and Lenny did a great job doing whatever he did to it to keep its integrity somewhat intact. Very close though - can't hear much distance in the recording. What you CAN hear though, are some quick conversations - the nice girl from North Carolina asking me what song is what every coupla tunes - her telling me shed love to hear Scarlet>Fire, and the like. You can even hear her ask me if our voices will be recorded on this, and I reply Yes. Shouts of 'Bobby' can be heard as well. And, as Bobby tells us 'well be back in just a lil bit' after fackin Picasso, you can hear me mutter 'oh nooo'. Hear her friend ask me for kind bud at some point. And, as we all used to do, calling songs before they started, I told this guy to get ready for Dire Wolf, and seconds later Jerry fired off the first few notes of Dire Wolf. When I heard all this the other night after Lenny sent it to me, I said 'Oh snap man I didn't know all this talk was on it!' But it is. And, as Bobby tells us 'well be back in just a lil bit' after fackin Picasso, you can hear me mutter 'oh nooo'. And thats the way it is. It is listenable, thats for sure. A lot of it is quite clear, as I did my best to have my chin up so the mics could catch the waves of music. Far from a pro recording though. But does give you the feel for what it sounded like up front at a GD show.. The recording ends at drums- and this is why - as Drums got underway, I left the front, and went to visit my buddies in the back corner of the floor section, Jerry's side. Upon my return, one usher was very proficient in his flashlighting of a stub, and read my ticket, and flew off the handle. He said "What??? This is a ticket from LAST YEAR!" I said, yup, but heres my regular one, and I was kinda baby faced and tried to talk my way out of it- how I just wanted to go close-up. He wasn't falling for it, grabbed my arm and said 'lets go'. I said I have to get my coat from where my friends were situated. He took me there, I got my coat, my pals were like 'whoaaaa' - I told em I'd see em at the car. Anyway, the guy takes me out into the hallway of the arena, and then to the doors where he escorted me out - the only ejection of my life - so I got to listen to Last Time>Peter>Around outside the glass doors of the Coliseum. -Scott Seeded to etree on: 02/27/2014

View NotesThanks to Baker for lending me his tapes to work on.Another uncirculated audience recording and a great sounding show too!Tape flip after "It's All Over Now" ends up cutting thr first few seconds of "So Many Roads",also some music loudness loss from D-6 acting up after tape flip.Tape flip in "space" also, most likely only a second or two is missing.
