Taper Notes:
View NotesThis is a re-cutting of Chris Ladner's original seed 6937. I have converted to FLAC, normalized, and fixed trackings. The source is not pristine, but it is more than acceptable until a new mastering comes along. Known issues: Dropout in Tennessee Jed at 1:29 spliced from Mike Lai's audience source There is a very brief jam on Playing in the Band right after Crazy Fingers. It's less than a minute so I didn't bother tracking it separately. Original seeds to Chris from Charlie Miller. Seeded by Peter Braverman 11/1/19

View NotesOldNeumanntapr Notes: This was my 'Last Time' recording the Dead at Cal Expo. It was a really long drive from San Luis Obispo County, but I really enjoyed that venue. For these shows I elected to patch my Sony WM-D6C into my friend John's Nakamichi CM300x3 rig, which I ended up buying from him later that year when he decided to purchase a set of Audio Technica AT-853a stealth microphones. This was the show where I met Bear Owsley. He came into the tapers section and borrowed a cable from my friend John, and John turned to me and said, "Do you know who this IS? This is Bear!" I said hi to him and he gave me a dirty look when I asked if he had any 'samples'! I remember that he was really short, and that he had a little leather case of some of the Grateful Dead-related jewelry that he had made and was selling. For some reason I could not find my ticket stub to the previous night's show, June 9, but I had two stubs from this show, June 10.

This was repaired by copying left channel (effectively becoming mono) during those moments. - Both channels cut out for about 20 seconds during end of NFA chant. This silence has been edited out. - Waves L3 Ultramaximizer (minimal limiting, dithering, noise shaping). Additional notes: - Multiple recorders were chained off this recording setup. This particular master cassette is just one of them. - Cassette transfer made 2016-10-31. Mastering done 2021-04-01. - CP-702 are the omni capsules in the Nakamichi 700 mic system.
