Good old DJ Logic -- I saw a LOT of his shows in a short period of time, but this is only the 2nd entry in my BARN series (the last one was WAY back at BARN77) that features his Project Logic.  BARN198 got transferred along with the Bernie Worrell and the Woo Warriors show from the same night at the Knitting Factory -- Project Logic was the opening band for an excellent double bill!  Often his sets were filled with all sorts of guests, but this one features what was essentially his core band at the time -- the phenomenal bassist Melvin Gibbs (a monster player in his own right who has been all over the map musically -- playing with Henry Rollins, John Zorn, Bill Frisell, Femi Kuti, Marc Ribot, James Blood Ulmer, Vernon Reid, and on and on), Skoota Warner (Apollo Theater house band, Hot Tuna, Santana, The B-52's, Arto Lindsay, Lionel Richie, Cyndi Lauper, Matisyahu, and Mary J. Blige), and Casey Benjamin (Q Tip, Mos Def, Stefon Harris).  That's a huge amount of talent on stage, and Project Logic was an improvisational powerhouse.
