View NotesRecorded by Scott Bernstein Cassette Transfer: 8/17/2013 Tracking, Mastering, and Tagging: 5/2-5/2019 This was an opening set for Don Henley Taper Notes: Next up for BARN183, a short but sweet Edie Brickell And The New Bohemians set opening for Don Henley at the peak of their fame, after the single "What I Am" was released in November 1988. Its songs come largely from their major label debut album "Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars", except for "Mama Help Me" which was released on their follow-up album "Ghost Of A Dog" in October 1990. This was a very early recording of mine, made with an old Aiwa recording walkman I had (before I got tipped off to the far superior quality of a Sony D6 recorder which had both Dolby C and proper recording level controls), and despite the low quality of the recorder and mics, I was apparently in exactly the right spot in the venue for a wonderful sounding recording with splendid stereo imaging. It did take some heavy EQ to compensate for the heavy midrange which was emphasized on the master tape, and I think I made it sound very good! I did see Edie and the New Bohemains one more time on their reunion tour in 2006 and managed to tape that one as well. Hope you enjoy this VERY deep dive into my archive!
